Steve includes a cover song on every album. Sometimes, it’s a fully reimagined version of the tune. Other times it’s more of the original vision but filtered by the musical approach to that specific record.

In late 2023, Steve and the Fourteens were finishing up recordings for Love Is Hard. Steve brought the band in to record some of their favorite cover tunes from their live set.

So Under Cover is an eclectic mix of remastered covers from earlier records along with seven new recordings. Each song (and artist) has had an impact on how Steve thinks about and makes music today.
